BioMérieux is trying to approve a panel for Ebola in the USA

October 20 (Reuters) - BioMérieux is working with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to determine whether its gastrointestinal panel FilmArray could be used for the detection of Ebola, spokeswoman Suzanne Jones said on Monday. This panel is used to target different bacteria, viruses and parasites, which may be used for example as a bacteriological weapon. To the extent that the panel has been designed for environmental monitoring, BioMérieux must demonstrate to the FDA that it can also be used clinically, added Jones, in a statement.
